Our Commitment

The highest standards of business conduct and ethical behavior are the foundation for FirstEnergy achieving its mission. Through codes of conduct, business practices, training courses, and an employee concerns line, we attempt to provide an atmosphere for open communication of ethics and compliance issues.

Ethics is a way of thinking and acting that requires a constant, companywide effort that hinges on the actions and behaviors of each one of us. Ethics is everyone's business, everyday, everywhere.

Confidential and Anonymous Reporting

When confidentiality is a concern, you may personally direct reports of violations or other business conduct inquiries to FirstEnergy's Chief Ethics Officer. In situations where you prefer to place an anonymous report in confidence, you are encouraged to use the Employee Concerns Line or the online form. Both are hosted by a third-party hotline provider, EthicsPoint.

The information you provide will be sent to us by EthicsPoint on a totally confidential and anonymous basis if you should choose. You have our guarantee that your comments will be heard.

The Employee Concerns Line or Website should be used if you know of, witness, or have a reason to suspect unethical business conduct in direct violation with the Code of Business Conduct policy that can harm both FirstEnergy and its employees.

The Employee Concerns Line and Website can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to report a violation. Information is taken by an independent third-party organization that helps employees communicate sensitive and sometimes confidential information to their employer. The organization is staffed by professionals who are trained to protect your anonymity and handle your concerns in a confidential and discrete manner.

See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.
